The Pigma Illustration Contest is now
in its 7th year.
It's already been a year and a half
since we've lived with anxiety caused by COVID-19. People are struggling with
fatigue due to our prolonged disconnected lives. At a time like this, I
sometimes think about what we can do to face our true inner selves and radiate
positive energy.
I take a two-hour walk every morning
in the mountains and on the beach near my house. For me, it is a time of
meditation in order to get rid of distracting thoughts. It's also a time of
observation to look at surrounding objects and landscapes with an open mind. A
contemplative morning walk in the fresh air is one of the ways I discover and
love myself.
We host the illustration contest
every year and view a lot amazing artwork. This year, however, I was able to
read and appreciate the stories expressed by many participants. After reading
them, one by one and through the in-depth theme of ‘Love myself', I was deeply
touched more than ever before. It was very rewarding to see that the various
stories of how you grew up and reflected on yourselves could be told so
amazingly with just a single black pen. With the stroke of a pen, you told
impressive tales of traveling alone, spending time with family, and writing in
a journal.
When we consider the stories and
values of the users of our products, we realize that we are not just selling
writing instruments, but sharing the stories, memories, and emotions of the
people who use our products. There is nothing more rewarding to a businessperson
than if our products are used as a essential tool to spread your imagination
and the messages of hope through paintings.
In times of darkness and instability
in society, art and culture need to grow and shine brightly. We need to be able
to convey the messages of hope to many people through art. SAKURA and ZIMMOAH
are dedicated to continue developing and introducing quality tools in the
future as well as to be a staunch supporter of artists.
